Boy Scout Troop 755 is one of the oldest Boy Scout troops in Gambrills, MD. We're
currently celebrating 55 years of continuous existence. The troop is part of the
Four Rivers District
in the Baltimore Area Council
of the Boy Scouts of America.
We were established in 1954 and chartered by our current charter organization, the
Church of God at Gambrills.
Troop 755 started with less than a half dozen scouts in our first year but has quickly
grown in size and now exceeds over 30 chartered members. Troop 755 has a strong
and proud
track
record
of Scouts achieving the rank of Eagle Scout over the years. We have the highest
advancement rate of the 44 troops in the Four Rivers District.
We meet every Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at the
Scout Hall
next to the Church of God. Throughout the year the troop conducts monthly campouts
or events. Each year the troop participates in the annual Popcorn Fundraiser, the
Scouting for Food Program, and a number of other community service events. Every
summer the troop spends a full week at the
Horseshoe Scout Reservation, one of the country’s top rated BSA Camps, located
in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Troop 755’s Committee and Adult Leadership are strong proponents of the BSA’s Aims
and Methods of Scouting. We encourage the patrol method during our weekly meetings
and in the planning and structure of our monthly camp outs.
